Abstract:AbstractThis bachelor thesis The motivation of non-professional musicians from the conductor'sperspective deals with motivation in amateur choirs. First, overview of relevantinformation from literature will be provided, in particular how it works and how to useit for effective stimulation to achieve high performance. The importance of leisureeducation and its specifics and possibilities will be demonstrated to explain how itworks in amateur choirs. The psychological aspect of conductor's work is alsosignificant, with focus on the personality of musicians, specifically conductors and choirmembers.Objective of this work is to provide conductors with deeper insight into the issues ofleading and appropriate motivation of musicians, to fulfill demanding requirements thatare coming from all sides.This work is enriched by field research – interviews with five conductors and a surveyof choir members. Conductors present their ensembles and their point of view on whatis important in their work to become successful. The questionnaire focuses on expectedcharacteristics, what personality should a good conductor be according to choirmembers. This all contributes to deeper understanding of the conductor's job and givessuggestions and hints for more effective choir leading.
